Tips - or - Stuff That Doesn't Fit Elsewhere, but Might Be Handy for You to Know

  • Skyes have a sensitivity to the drug ivermectin. It can kill them. Be certain your veterinarian knows this.
  • NilOdor is the best product I've found to clean up the inevitable household accidents
  • Put 4"x4" (better yet 6"x6") timbers along the bottom of your yard's fence. Helps keep your Skye from digging under, or pushing through, it.
  • When you're looking for a purebred dog, one of the best things you can do is visit a dog show. That's the best place to see many different breeds at one time. Visit the Infodog site to find a list of shows by state and date. About a week before the date of the show, you should be able to find a link to the Judging Program. This is a list of what breeds are being shown that day, and the approximate time they will be in the ring.
  • Keep a comb and brush handy to work out tangles before they become mats.
